Dr Alice Sakhel’s work at Hamburg Institut focuses on the verification of renewable energies, in particular for gas and electricity. She also develops climate strategies and is involved in a range of research projects.
Professional experience & qualification
Before joining Hamburg Institut in 2020, Dr Alice Sakhel worked as a consultant for the Federal Government’s Science Platform for Climate Protection. Their task is to advise the government – especially the BMU and the BMBF – on current climate protection laws and to provide impetus for legislation. She also worked as a consultant for energy statistics at Agora Energiewende for about two years.
Dr Alice Sakhel completed her diploma studies in business administration at the University of Cologne, with a specialisation in international management at the FGV in São Paulo. In her doctoral thesis at the University of Hamburg in the field of environmental and energy management, she researched the topics of climate reporting to reduce uncertainties on the financial markets, the effects of external consulting on the implementation of energy efficiency measures in companies and corporate handling of uncertainties regarding climate regulations.
